BMW plans to launch the latest generation of BMW X1 in India on January 28. The company has already started accepting bookings for the SUV ahead of its launch. Potential buyers can pre-book their new generation BMW X1 for a token amount of Rs 50,000 – the official booking, however, is expected to demand a price of Rs 2 lakh. The third-generation BMW X1 will include significant upgrades and will be launched in Bengaluru during the BMW Joytown festival. The second iteration of the event held on January 7 in Mumbai witnessed the launch of the latest generation 7 series and i7 in India. Further, deliveries for the all-new X1 will begin in March this year.

BMW X1 Rear

The new-generation BMW X1 has undergone multiple modifications – it now features a larger kidney grille, thinner headlights with L-shaped DRLs, and flat door handles. The upcoming X1 will maintain its sporty style but will also have a more SUV-like look. Additionally, the SUV's proportions have been altered, making it longer than the SUV segment's Audi Q3.

The upcoming new-gen X1 is anticipated to offer both petrol and diesel engine options, both of which are likely to receive the 48-volt mild hybrid system based on the BMW FAAR architecture. The car's top trim levels are expected to have the xDrive all-wheel-drive system as standard. The car’s engine will be mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission.

BMW X1 Interior

The BMW X1 SUV's interior will include a 2 Series Active Tourer-style dashboard. There will be a 10.7-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital console. The car will also feature the latest iDrive 8 user interface and a larger boot, which can hold up to 500 litres.
