Dacia Bigster Teaser

Renault-owned Dacia will showcase its new Bigster SUV at the Paris Motor Show 2024 (October 14–October 20). But, before that happens, Dacia has dropped the initial set of teasers of the SUV, previewing a three-row iteration of the Renault Duster. The teaser shows the Bigster's back end with sharp Y-shaped LED taillamps. The image doesn't reveal much, but we can spot the Dacia badge in the centre.

As per the spy images, the Renault Bigster will share its styling with the five-seat Duster. It is expected to feature slim LED headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights up front. In profile, the upcoming Bigster could sport pillar-mounted door handles, squared-off wheel arches, and black alloy wheels. Other expected bits include a shark-fin antenna, a kink behind the C-pillar, and an extended roof spoiler. The new SUV will be based on the CMF-B platform and arrive in both Renault and Nissan guises in India.

At about 4,600mm in length which makes it 300mm longer than the Duster, the Bigster will be Dacia's flagship vehicle. The seven-seat Bigster is expected to get three engine options under its hood – a 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol-hybrid, a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol-hybrid, and a 1.0-litre petrol-LPG variant (in some markets). Like its five-seat counterpart, the Bigster will likely come with a front-wheel-drive setup and an optional all-wheel-drive system, depending on the market. Terrain modes (Auto, Snow, Mud/Sand, off-road, and Eco) are also on the cards.

Dacia Bigster: Features

On the inside as well, the seven-seat Bigster will likely mimic the Duster. Expected interior bits include steering-wheel-mounted controls, a large infotainment screen, a digital instrument cluster, an electrically adjustable driver seat, auto-dimming IRVM, dual-zone climate control, a 360-degree camera, and an ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems) suite.

As far as our market goes, the seven-seat Renault Bigster will be introduced only after the five-seat Duster has made its way here in the second half of next year. In the segment, the Bigster will rival the Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector Plus, and the Tata Safari.
