The Renault Duster SUV has scored 30.49 out of 32 for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 45 out of 49 for Child Occupant Protection (COP).

The Renault Duster, which recently made its comeback to the Indian market after a four-year hiatus in a new avatar, has earned a 5-star safety rating in the Bharat NCAP crash tests. The mid-size SUV, underpinned by the Renault Group Modular Platform (RGMP), has received 30.49 out of 32 for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 45 out of 49 for Child Occupant Protection (COP). Note that these ratings are applicable across all variants. In terms of safety, the new Duster is well-equipped with six airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, a 360-degree camera, rear and front parking sensors, and Level-2 ADAS.
During the frontal offset deformable barrier evaluation, the third-gen Duster SUV has scored 14.49 out of 16 points. It demonstrated ‘Good’ performance while safeguarding the head, neck, pelvis, and thighs of the driver. That said, the protection to the chest and tibia was deemed ‘Adequate’.

On the co-driver side, the Duster showed ‘Good’ safety for both upper and lower body areas. The SUV performed excellently in the side movable deformable barrier test, with a perfect 16.00/16, and also achieved an ‘OK’ rating in the side pole impact test.
The SUV earned a dynamic score of a perfect 24 out of 24. It also achieved 12/12 for Child Restraint System (CRS) installation. The vehicle assessment score stood at 9/13. The 18-month and 3-year child dummies demonstrated maximum safety in both front and side impacts, thanks to rearward-facing ISOFIX-mounted seats with a support leg.
Prices for the Duster SUV in India start at Rs 10.49 lakh, and reach up to Rs 18.49 lakh (both, ex-showroom). In terms of market rivalry, the SUV locks horns with the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Kia Seltos, and Tata Sierra.
