The Tata Punch SUV has undergone a thorough makeover nearly four years after its launch in October 2021. The updated model, priced from Rs 5.59 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom), comes with major improvements across both the cosmetic and mechanical fronts. Its looks are now aligned with Tata’s current design language, particularly that seen on the Punch EV and the Altroz Racer. For years, the Punch has been a strong revenue driver for Tata Motors in the subcompact SUV segment. The facelift, featuring a new design and a turbo-petrol engine option, is expected to build on this success while continuing to compete with the same rivals, including the Hyundai Exter, Nissan Magnite, Citroen C3, and Maruti Suzuki Ignis. Here’s all you need to know about the new Tata Punch Facelift in detail.

While the boxy stance remains intact, Tata has introduced noticeable styling upgrades across the SUV’s front, side, and rear to make it a bit more contemporary. These include slim DRLs, reworked bumpers, new 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, updated Tata logos, connected LED taillights, and a relocated rear camera. Tata has also introduced four new colour options for the SUV: Cyantific Blue, Caramel, Bengal Rouge (Red), and Coorg Clouds.

Similar to the exterior, the ICE-powered Punch facelift also gets a host of updates inside the cabin. While the overall dashboard layout remains the same, Tata has introduced a new dual-tone theme with grey and blue seat upholstery.

The climate control panel has been updated as well, now featuring a touch-based interface complemented by physical toggles for ease of use. Moreover, there’s a new two-spoke steering wheel, which comes with an illuminated Tata logo.
Following the update, Tata Motors has made the Punch facelift significantly more feature-packed. Key amenities include a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The SUV is also equipped with six standard airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill descent control, a 360-degree camera system, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), automatic climate control, cruise control, a single-pane sunroof, a 6-speaker audio system, and keyless entry with push-button start/stop.
The Tata Punch SUV, in its facelifted avatar, adds a new turbo-petrol engine option to its lineup, which also includes a naturally aspirated petrol unit and a CNG variant. The new 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, delivers 118bhp at 5,500rpm and 170Nm between 1,750 and 4,000rpm.

The facelift also continues to offer the same engine with CNG, producing 72.4bhp at 8,000rpm and 101Nm at 3,500rpm. This setup is available with a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox (new).

The petrol manual variants start at Rs 5.59 lakh for the Smart trim and go up to Rs 8.99 lakh for the top-spec Accomplished + S persona.
