Toyota Innova Hycross: Top Highlights

Order books for the Toyota Innova Hycross are already open in India. Customer deliveries will begin in mid-January 2023. 

The much-anticipated Innova Hycross was recently unveiled in India by Toyota Kirloskar Motor. The car will be positioned above the Innova Crysta in the firm's portfolio and will be available in two petrol variants (G and GX) and three strong-hybrid versions – VX, ZX, and ZX(O). Here's a sneak peek into the top highlights of the Innova Hycross.

1. Engine Specifications

Toyota will offer the Innova Hycross with two engine options. The first is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, which produces 205Nm of maximum torque and 171bhp of peak power. And then there is a TNGA 2.0-litre four-cylinder hybrid petrol engine with an electric motor, which serves as the secondary engine. It is coupled to an e-CVT and churns out 183bhp and 206Nm.

2. Features

The Innova Hycross comes with a tonne of features. It gets a large 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Some additional features include a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, a digital instrument panel, ventilated front seats, and roof-mounted AC vents. Up to six airbags, ADAS, descent control, and hill hold, along with other safety features are also included.

3. Seven Exterior Paint Shades

Toyota is providing the Hycross in seven different colours – Super White, Platinum White Pearl, Silver Metallic, Attitude Black Mica, Sparkling Black Crystal Shine, Avantgarde Bronze Metallic, and a brand-new shade dubbed Blackish Ageha Gloss Flake.

4. Dimensions

The Innova Hycross measures 4,735mm in length, 1,830mm in width, and 1,795mm in height. The 2,850mm long wheelbase, which is a significant modification, is 100mm longer than that of the Crysta. With shorter overhangs, the monocoque chassis has helped add some extra space inside the cabin. With the second and third rows folded, it has a boot size of 991 litres. Also, the cab forward structure ensures additional legroom in the second and third rows.

5. Prices

The new Toyota Innova Hycross's pricing will be announced in January 2023. However, bookings for the car have already commenced for a token amount of ₹50,000, and deliveries are scheduled to start in February next year. In the Indian market, the Innova Hycross is set to rival the likes of the Innova Crysta, the MG Hector Plus, the Hyundai Alcazar, and the Mahindra XUV700.
