Hero MotoCorp Overall Sales Drop 5% in April 2023

Hero MotoCorp has released its sales numbers for April 2023. The two-wheeler manufacturer has witnessed a year-over-year and month-over-month drop in sales. Here's a detailed breakdown of the sales report.

Hero MotoCorp registered a 5% year-over-year drop in April 2023, from 418,622 units in the same month last year to 396,107 units. Over the same time, exports decreased by over 50%, from 20,132 units to 9,923 units. Further, domestic sales also dropped 3% this April to 3,86,184 units from 3,98,490 units in the same month the previous year. Additionally, MoM sales declined from 5,19,342 units sold in March 2023 by 23.73%. According to the firm, its sales will likely boost in the coming months with new launches in the pipeline. In March 2023, the two-wheeler maker, however, registered an increase on both YoY and MoM basis. It sold 5,02,730 units domestically in March 2023, compared to 4,15,764 units during the same period last year, representing an increase of 20.9% year-over-year. Further, it sold 3,82,317 units in February 2023, a 31.5% month-over-month (MoM) increase in sales.

Hero MotoCorp April Sales 2023

Speaking of motorcycle dispatches the last month, the sales decreased to 3,68,830 units, a 6.06% YoY decrease from the 3,92,627 units sold in April 2022. With the motorcycle segment controlling a 93.11% share of the market, the company reported a YoY volume loss of 23,797 units. MoM sales also dropped by 1,17,066 units, or 24.09%, from the 4,85,896 units sold in March 2023. On the other side, sales of scooters rose YoY by 4.93%, from 25,995 units sold in April 2022 to 27,277 units in April 2023. However, compared to the 33,446 units sold in March 2023, MoM sales dipped by 18.44%.

Hero Xoom 110: Key Details

According to the firm, the new Xoom 110cc scooter has been doing good in the market ever since its launch. The base LX model of the new Hero Xoom 110 is available in India for Rs 68,599 (ex-showroom), while the VX and ZX variants are priced at Rs 71,799 and Rs 76,699 (ex-showroom), respectively. Mechanically, the scooter is driven by a 110.9cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine with a CVT, offering 8.04bhp of peak power at 7,500rpm and 8.75Nm of maximum torque at 5,500rpm. In our market, this new scooter locks horns with models like the TVS Jupiter, the Honda Activa Smart, and more.
