Hero MotoCorp experienced a significant dip in its overall two-wheeler performance for April 2025. The company dispatched about 3.05 lakh units during the month, representing a sharp 42.76% fall compared to the 5.34 lakh units sold in April last year. Month-over-month (MoM) figures also declined, with March 2025 having recorded roughly 5.50 lakh units, a 44.43% drop. Despite the weaker wholesale numbers, VAHAN data shows 5.05 lakh ICE vehicle registrations under Hero’s name for the same period. In terms of domestic sales, Hero dispatched over 2.88 lakh units in April, a steep decline of 43.79% year-on-year (YoY) and 43.44% lower than the previous month.

Motorcycles continued to be the company’s primary sales drivers, though volumes dropped to 2.86 lakh units, down 42.38% from April last year and 43.53% from March 2025. Scooter sales followed suit, falling to 19,317 units, a 47.85% decrease YoY and a substantial 55.04% drop MoM. Exports weren’t spared either, falling to 16,882 units, which is 16.79% lower than April 2024 and 57.28% less than in March this year.

In contrast to the downturn across its ICE lineup, Hero’s electric mobility division VIDA saw encouraging momentum. The VIDA V2 electric scooter clocked 7,116 retail units in April 2025, while VAHAN recorded 6,123 registrations. This marks a solid increase from previous levels, indicating that Hero’s EV efforts are gaining traction amid an otherwise challenging market environment.
Hero has refreshed its Splendor Plus lineup to meet the latest OBD2B emission norms, resulting in a uniform price hike of Rs 1,750 across all variants. The entry-level model now starts at Rs 78,926 (ex-showroom), while the top-spec Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0 carries a price tag of Rs 85,501 (ex-showroom).
The updated range includes six variants: Splendor+ Drum, Splendor+ i3S, Splendor+ i3S Black & Accent, Splendor+ XTEC Drum, Splendor+ XTEC Disc, and Splendor+ XTEC 2.0 Drum. Known for its value-oriented appeal, the Splendor Plus continues to rival other commuter motorcycles such as the Bajaj Platina 100, TVS Star City Plus, and Honda Shine 100 in the budget-friendly segment.
