Hero VIDA V1 E-scooter Gets Cheaper in India; Prices Slashed by Rs 25,000

The Vida V1 electric scooter has been reduced in price by Rs 25,000 by Hero MotoCorp. The base price has been reduced to Rs 1.20 lakh, while the V1 Pro now costs Rs 1.40 lakh (ex-showroom, including FAME II subsidy). The Vida V1 electric scooter is equipped with swappable batteries.

The two-wheeler behemoth Hero MotoCorp has decided to reimburse buyers of its first electric scooter, the Vida V1. Hero MotoCorp confirmed in a recent statement that prices for the Vida V1 will now start at Rs 1.20 lakh, while the top-spec V1 Pro will cost Rs 1.40 lakh (both prices ex-showroom, including portable charger and FAME-II subsidy) - a difference of Rs 25,000 and Rs 20,000 from their launch prices, respectively. This year, the manufacturer plans to expand the presence of its VIDA brand electric scooters to 100 cities. Swadesh Srivastava, Head of the Emerging Mobility Business Unit at Hero MotoCorp, stated in a regulatory filing, "In line with our vision to democratise green mobility and expedite the growth of the electric vehicle (EV) category, we are set for a rapid expansion of VIDA across the country." He further said that in order to expand operations to 100 cities, the company would make use of Hero MotoCorp's current network strength. Eight new cities have already been added to the expansion plan: Pune, Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Nasik, Hyderabad, Chennai, Calicut, and Kochi. With the help of nearly 300 charging stations spread across 50 locations, the VIDA brand is currently available in Bengaluru, Jaipur, and Delhi.

Speaking of the e-scooter, the Hero Vida V1 comes in two variants- Plus and Pro. The Pro version has a longer range, faster acceleration, and more colour options. The Pro model, with its 3.94kWh battery pack, has a greater range than the Plus model, which has a 3.44kWh unit. The Hero Vida V1 Plus, which is now priced at Rs 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom), and the Hero Vida V1 Pro, which costs Rs 1.40 lakh (ex-showroom), have a range of 143 kilometre and 165 kilometre, respectively. The electric scooter has swappable batteries and a charging speed of 1.2km/min. The acceleration time from 0 to 40km/h for the Plus and Pro variants is 3.4 seconds and 3.2 seconds, respectively.

Three colours—Matte White, Matte Sports Red, and Gloss Black—are offered for the Vida V1 Plus. Contrarily, the Pro model is available in four colours: Matte White, Matte Sports Red, Gloss Black, and Matte Abrax Orange. On the Vida V1, additional features include a custom mode with more than 100 combinations, cruise control, boost mode, two-way throttle, keyless entry, turn-by-turn navigation, geo-fencing, anti-theft alert, and a 7-inch TFT touchscreen with over-the-air support. The Hero Vida V1 is built on an intelligent platform that is modular, scalable, and adaptable in real-time.
