Maruti Suzuki Jimny Waiting Period Goes up to 8 Months in India

Now, in a recent development, the waiting period for the Jimny SUV has gone up to 8 months in India, owing to the model's high demand and impressive popularity. Speaking of variants, the new Jimny 5-door is offered by the automaker in two distinct versions: Zeta and Alpha. In terms of pricing, the top-spec Alpha model with an automatic gearbox is available for Rs 15.05 lakh (ex-showroom), while the entry-level Zeta trim level with a manual gearbox costs Rs 12.74 lakh (ex-showroom). The manual versions of the Jimny SUV are in more demand, claims Maruti Suzuki. Notably, the car's top-spec Alpha variant also has more buyers than the other variants on the market.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door: Powertrain and Performance
In terms of the drivetrain, the 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated (NA) petrol engine that powers the Maruti Suzuki Jimny SUV produces 103bhp of maximum power and 134.2Nm of peak torque. There are two different types of transmissions available: a 4-speed automatic and a 5-speed manual. Also worth noticing is the fact that Suzuki's AllGrip Pro 4WD system, which includes a low-range transmission for greater off-roadability, comes standard on all models of the recently released Maruti Suzuki Jimny SUV.
The Jimny SUV's manual version, as stated by Maruti Suzuki, has a fuel economy rating of 16.94km/l, while the automated version has a slightly lower rating of 16.39km/l. With a 40-litre petrol tank, the Jimny has a range of more than 650 kilometre. In contrast, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza SUV equipped with a comparable powertrain achieves fuel economy ratings of 20.15km/l for the manual variation and 19.80km/l for the automatic version.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door: Features
The Jimny comes standard with a 7.0-inch touchscreen, Smartplay Pro infotainment system, 4-speaker stereo system, Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, rear defogger, Colour MID display, and power windows. Further, Maruti Suzuki provides a limited-slip differential, Hill Hold Assist, Hill Descent Control, Brake Assist, rearview camera, and speed warning as safety features.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door: Design Details
The Maruti Suzuki Jimny will be offered through Nexa retail stores in India, where it will be available alongside the Grand Vitara and the Brezza in the manufacturer's growing SUV portfolio. The SUV is 3,985mm long, 1,645mm wide, and 1,720mm tall with its boxy and off-road-focused styling. Moreover, it provides a 208-litre trunk that can be expanded to a 332-litre capacity. Along with this, the firm provides 7 colour options to choose from, including Granite Grey, Bluish Black, Kinetic Yellow with a Bluish Black roof, Sizzling Red with a Bluish Black roof, and Pearl Arctic White with a Bluish Black roof.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door: Price Range
As stated above, the all-new Jimny comes in two trim levels, Zeta and Alpha, which are dispersed among different variants. It costs between Rs 12.74 lakh and Rs 15.05 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom. In our home market, the Jimny competes with vehicles such as the Mahindra Thar, the Force Gurkha, and others.
