Toyota Taisor Becomes Expensive in India; Check New Prices Here

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has revised the prices of select models in its lineup this March, resulting in a price increase for the Urban Cruiser Taisor. The S AMT and S+ AMT variants have seen a notable hike of Rs 5,500, while all other trims have become Rs 500 more expensive. Following this revision, the SUV’s price now ranges from Rs 7.74 lakh to Rs 13.04 lakh. All mentioned prices are ex-showroom figures. The Urban Cruiser Taisor is available in four trims – E, S, G, and V. Customers can choose from five solid paint job options: Café White, Enticing Silver, Sportin Red, Lucent Orange, and Gaming Grey. Additionally, dual-tone variants are offered, with Enticing Silver, Café White, and Sportin Red paired with a contrasting Midnight Black roof for a sportier appeal.

Toyota Taisor: Design and Features

From a design perspective, the Taisor is essentially a rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, featuring subtle styling tweaks. Notable differences include a revised trapezoidal honeycomb grille, a redesigned front bumper, new LED DRLs, and fresh 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. Toyota also offers a range of customisation options with accessories such as garnishes, spoilers, door visors, seat covers, and window sunshades.

On the features front, the Taisor comes well-equipped with modern amenities, including a heads-up display, automatic climate control, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control, and wireless phone charging. Safety is also a priority, with features like electronic stability control (ESP), ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat anchors, a 360-degree camera, and up to six airbags ensuring enhanced protection.

Toyota Taisor: Engine and Gearbox

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor houses the same engine lineup as its Maruti Suzuki counterpart, featuring a 1.2-litre four-cylinder K-series petrol engine and a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit. The naturally aspirated (NA) 1.2-litre motor delivers 88.5bhp and 113Nm of torque, while the turbocharged 1.0-litre variant produces 98.6bhp of maximum power and 147.6Nm of peak torque. Transmission choices include a five-speed manual, a five-speed automated manual (AMT), and a six-speed torque converter automatic. Additionally, a CNG variant is available, offering 76.44bhp and 98.5Nm of torque.

In India, the sub-4m SUV competes with segment rivals such as the Mahindra XUV 3XO, Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Tata Nexon, and the Hyundai Venue.
