Toyota has announced the opening of driver selection programme for the 2015 edition of Etios Motor Racing series.

Interested candidates in the age group of 15 to 28 and 29 and above can register online for the preliminary screening. Thereafter, ground selection will take place - first in a go kart and later in the EMS car at Coimbatore's Kari Motor Speedway. Drivers with previous experience of racing in the series get a direct entry into the final round.

Candidates will be evaluated on the basis of driver skill, physical fitness and consistency in lap times. Three time INRC champion N Leelakrishnan will conduct the go-karting round along with other guest evaluators.

Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Akitoshi Takemura, Senior Vice President- Toyota Planning & Strategy Group & Senior Managing Coordinator, Toyota Sales Group, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, “After two successful seasons of Etios Motor Racing in India, we are delighted to open the driver selection for the new season. We have seen some very good talent in the previous seasons and we are excited to get some fresh talent onboard this season. Moreover, as an endeavor to encourage more participation from women, selected lady drivers will get a 50% waiver on the registration fees.”

Toyota Etios racing series was introduced in 2012 and is as a part of the National Racing Championship whose flagship event is the MRF 1600 race.
