BMW R 1300 GS Adventure Dark Edition gets an all-black design with tinted screen, black wheels, and dark body panels, giving the flagship ADV a clean, stealth look

BMW Motorrad has pulled the covers off the BMW R 1300 GS Adventure Dark Edition, and this one is clearly aimed at riders who prefer a cleaner, darker look without changing what already works. There are no mechanical updates, and that’s not really a downside here. It will be sold only in France till 30 June 2026, priced at EUR 22,900 (Approx. Rs 25.54 lakh), which is EUR 1,700 (Approx. Rs 1.90 lakh) more than the standard model, placing it as a styling-focused version of BMW’s flagship ADV.
The design is where most of the changes sit. BMW has gone for a proper all-black theme across the motorcycle. You get black spoked wheels, black-finished tank scoops, and body panels that stick to a single-tone look. The tall windscreen comes with a dark tint, and even the deflectors follow the same treatment. It gives the bike a more serious road presence without adding unnecessary elements. Along with that, BMW has included an alarm system and heated seats for both rider and pillion, which adds a bit of everyday usability.

In terms of features, it continues with the same setup as the standard R 1300 GS Adventure. That means Dynamic Cruise Control comes as standard, along with Dynamic Traction Control and ABS. There are four riding modes available: Eco, Rain, Road, and Enduro, which cover most riding conditions. You also get heated grips and additional LED auxiliary lights, which are actually useful during long rides and low-light conditions. There are no extra electronics added, but the existing setup already feels complete.
Under the tank, everything stays the same. The 1,300cc air and liquid-cooled boxer twin engine continues to produce 145bhp at 7,750rpm and 149Nm at 6,500rpm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox. The bike also carries forward BMW’s Telelever front and Paralever EVO rear suspension setup, along with Dynamic Suspension Adjustment as standard. This combination keeps the bike stable on highways while still being capable when the surface gets uneven or broken.
The R 1300 GS Adventure has already proven its value for BMW in global markets. In 2025, it recorded sales of 33,570 units, making it the brand’s top-selling motorcycle. In the UK as well, it led the adventure segment for most of the year. The Dark Edition builds on that same platform and simply offers a different visual option. For now, it remains limited to France, and there is no confirmation yet for markets like India.
