Lalwani accomplished this milestone while completing a hot lap on the 2022 Ducati Panigale V4 at the ISBK Track Days event, which took place on November 26 – 27, 2022.

Dilip Lalwani, the Ducati India rider and certified DRE instructor, set a new record for the fastest lap on a production motorcycle around the Buddha International Circuit. He broke the record for the fastest lap with a time of 1:55:963, surpassing Alessandro Valia, Ducati's official test rider, who achieved the same feat in 2018 at the DRE Track Days with a lap time of 1:56:316.

Commenting on his impressive feat, Dilip Lalwani, Ducati India Rider and Official DRE Instructor, said, 'I am thankful to the technicians and the designers at Ducati for creating the epitome of superbikes, the Panigale V4, and the team at Ducati India for constantly supporting me to give my maximum on the racetrack. The all-new Panigale V4 2022 is a dream to ride, and the performance of this motorcycle is unmatched, to say the least. I am confident that I will improve my timing over the next few months as I spend more time with my Panigale V4 and will aim for higher accolades in the future!'

The MotoGP-inspired 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale 90-degree V4 engine, which features a new oil pump and silencer, is at the core of the 2022 Ducati Panigale V4. The engine is tweaked to produce 123.6Nm of maximum torque at 9,500rpm and 212.5bhp of peak power at 13,000rpm and is paired with a new 6-speed transmission.

The Panigale V4 currently costs ₹26.49 lakh, whereas the Panigale V4 S is priced at ₹31.99 lakh (both the prices are ex-showroom India).
