General Motors has launched the 2015 version of Chevrolet Captiva 2.2 with improvements made both to the interiors and the exteriors of the mid-size SUV.

The new Captiva 2.2 is aggressively designed with boldly contoured hood, clear lens projection headlamps, and the signature Chevrolet grille at the front. The rear design is dominated by a large tailgate and virtual LED tail maps with indicators and reversing lamps housed in circular elements.

The newly launched SUV takes advantage of its 5+2 Flexi arrangement to accommodate seven adults at a time. Each passenger is offered an odour free experience thanks to the addition of a Cluster Ioniser which generates ions to purify and deodorize cabin interiors.

It retains its good old 2.2L engine that delivers 186 bhp and 400 NM of torque. It is mated to a six-speed gearbox that comes in both automatic and manual variants.

The manual version is priced at Rs 25,13,528 while be prepared to shell out two extra lakhs for the automatic variant(Rs  27,36,192). All prices are ex-showroom Delhi.

At the occasion, Mr Arvind Saxena, Managing Director of General Motors India, said: “The launch of the all new MY 15 Captiva is in line with our business plan of capturing the all important SUV market and growing our market share.”

“The Captiva has been warmly welcomed in markets around the world due to its combination of distinctive styling, refinement, best-in-class safety, comfort and versatility and powerful yet frugal diesel powertrain. In India, it has created a niche for itself in the premium SUV segment. The Captiva offers what our customers across India have started associating with,’’ he added.
