India-Made Nissan Magnite Left-Hand-Drive Exports Commence for Global Markets

Nissan has kicked off exports of the left-hand-drive (LHD) Magnite SUV from India, with an initial batch of 2,900 units shipped to Latin America last month. The Japanese manufacturer plans to export over 7,100 vehicles to Asia Pacific, North Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East markets. Following the rollout of the right-hand-drive (RHD) facelifted Magnite in November last year, the company is now catering to LHD regions. The primary adjustment for this version is shifting the steering wheel to the left, while the rest of the elements like the powertrain, features, and design remain identical to the India-spec variant.

The facelifted Magnite comes in six trims: Visia, Visia Plus, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna, and Tekna+, priced between Rs 6.12 lakh and Rs 11.72 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom figures. The naturally aspirated 1.0-litre petrol engine is available across all variants, while the turbocharged 1.0-litre petrol engine is offered starting from the Acenta trim.

Nissan Magnite: Dimensions and Design

The Nissan Magnite spans 3,994mm in length, 1,758mm in width, and 1,572mm in height, with a 2,500mm wheelbase. It offers a ground clearance of 205mm and a boot capacity of 336 litre.

On the design front, the SUV sports a comprehensive LED lighting system, silver roof rails, a bold gloss-black grille framed by chrome C-shaped elements, 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, and skid plates on both the front and rear.

Nissan Magnite: Under the Hood

Under the hood, the model employs a 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine, available in naturally aspirated (NA) and turbocharged variants. The NA version delivers 71bhp and 96Nm, while the turbocharged option generates 99bhp of maximum power and 160Nm of peak torque. Transmission choices include a five-speed manual for both engine types, an AMT for the NA variant, and a CVT automatic for the turbocharged model, enhancing driving comfort. Nissan claims the manual variant delivers 20km/l, with the CVT turbo option rated at 17.4km/l.

Nissan Magnite: Interior and Features

Inside, the cabin boasts a distinctive black-and-orange theme, with seats upholstered in premium leatherette material. Features-wise, the SUV is equipped with wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, a three-spoke steering wheel, automatic climate control, an 8-inch touchscreen supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and rear AC vents. Safety features comprise six airbags, an electronic stability control (ESC), and seatbelt reminders for all occupants.

The Nissan Magnite competes against a variety of models, including the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, and the Mahindra XUV 3XO.
