Mahindra XUV.e8 Electric SUV Spotted Testing Ahead of India Launch; Reveals Key Design Details

The Mahindra XUV.e8 has been spotted testing on the Chennai-Bangalore highway ahead of the launch in the country. Although there is no official confirmation, the electrified Mahindra SUV is anticipated to hit Indian roads by the end of 2024.

The new spy pictures of the upcoming Mahindra XUV.e8 SUV have floated online, providing important information about the electric variant. This XUV.e8 e-SUV test mule has been photographed multiple times in India, and most recently it is seen on the Chennai-Bangalore highway. In the latest spy images, the car offered a glimpse at some of its key design elements such as the daytime running LED light bar, and the split LED headlight system that is stacked vertically and sports a pod-like look. The recently released photos not only show the car's aggressive front end but also its rear side, which is similar to the Mahindra XUV700 and includes arrow-shaped LED taillights, a rear wiper, a shark-fin antenna, and more. Mahindra XUV.e8: Mechanical and Other Details

Although the exact specifications of the upcoming Mahindra XUV.e8 are under wraps, the electric version is expected to come equipped with the 80kWh battery pack that can generate power ranging between 230bhp and 345bhp. As far as dimensions are concerned, the new electric car from the house of Mahindra will reportedly measure around 4,740mm in length and feature a wheelbase of 2,762mm. There are currently no reports about the launch of the e-SUV in India. Market reports, however, indicate that the XUV.e8 will be the first electric model to be introduced in our market next year, with a starting price tag of around Rs 35 lakh. Upon the introduction here, the e-SUV will rival the likes of the upcoming Tata Harrier EV.

Regarding the interior, a 2-spoke steering wheel—a characteristic found on the newest Tata SUVs, such as the Harrier and Safari—is anticipated for the e-SUV. In addition, the XUV700 electric version is likely to come with a three-screen arrangement: an infotainment screen, an instrument panel that is fully digital, and a third screen that is for the co-driver. A drive selector lever and a center console arrangement are among the other noteworthy anticipated elements of the SUV.

Mahindra October 2023 Sales 

In the last month, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., sold a total of 80,679 units (Passenger and Commercial Vehicles), including exports, which was a 32% growth over the same duration in last year. The automaker announced the highest-ever sales for a fourth consecutive month in October. It dispatched 43,708 SUVs in the domestically, which exhibited a 36% increase. However, including exports, the carmaker sold 44,264 units in total. The automaker sold 43,708 passenger cars in the domestic arena, which was a 35% year-over-year gain from the same time last year. In the commercial segment, the company also witnessed tremendous growth with 25,715 units sold domestically.
