If you are a ‘Die Hard’ movies fan or even a Mercedes-Benz fan, then this will catch your attention. In fact, even if you are a huge admirer of the German company’s longest serving vehicle in series production – the G Class – hold on to your heart and use your other hand to hold on to your jaw, just in case it decides to go south. The Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG is here and now it’s landed itself a role in the sequel A Good Day to Die Hard which stars the action hero, Bruce Willis. With muscles pumping and adrenaline rushing at the age of 57, Bruce Willis will more than appreciate the fact that the same applies to the G63 AMG which is still young and in its 34th year of production.

Mercedes-Benz was excited to bring the G63 AMG to India, though we've had to bid goodbye to the G55 AMG, which is loved by so many of us and we even drove it in Ladakh last year. The G63 AMG gets the 5.5-litre twin turbocharged V8, which churns out a massive 544bhp and a maximum torque of 760Nm. Mated to the seven speed 7-Gtronic gearbox, all you need is, this car, a long tunnel and you going ballistic revving just to hear the symphony it creates.

A ‘V8 BiTurbo’ logo on the AMG wheel arch flaring reminds you of the power this machine has and the technology that went into it. Of course there are the pair of twin chromed tailpipes peeking out just before the rear wheels; which we saw in the G55, the AMG 5-twin-spoke alloy wheels and the red painted brake callipers. It is still as stylish as stylish can be. Equipped with even more luxurious interiors like leather-trimmed dashboards and multi-function steering wheel, as well as door centre panels in ruffled leather, headlining in anthracite Alcantara, tells you that Mercedes has taken pains to make it an attractive proposition. Priced at Rs.1.46 crores (ex-showroom Mumbai) we are sure that there will be ‘die hard’ fans digging deep into their pockets just to claim one.
