MG Motor India has launched the Comet EV in the country. The compact electric hatchback has three variants: Pace, Play, and Plush. In India, the entry-level Pace trim is priced at Rs 7.98 lakh, whereas the Play and the Plush versions cost Rs 9.28 lakh and Rs 9.98 lakh, respectively. Both prices are ex-showroom. These prices, according to MG, are only valid for the first 5,000 bookings and will likely increase later. The bookings of the EV haven't started yet. MG will begin taking pre-orders for the compact electric hatchback from 15 this month. Also, it will start deliveries of the electric car from May 22. The Comet EV featuring a three-door hatchback body shape has no direct competitor. However, as an entry-level electric car in the country, it goes against the models like the Citroen eC3 and the Tata Tiago EV. Let's dive into more details about this electric car, which is the second electric offering of the manufacturer after the MG ZS EV.
