MG is set to give the Hector SUV an all-black, aggressive, and sportier appearance, similar to that of the Astor and the Gloster. The new MG Hector Blackstorm will go on sale in India on April 10, featuring major cosmetic enhancements compared to the standard model. It will have an all-black exterior with red accents and blacked-out alloy wheels. The new all-black edition will include dark chrome for a more menacing look instead of the chrome dazzle of the standard version. It is likely to be available in higher-end versions. The Blackstorm variant is speculated to cost more than the standard Hector, which is priced between Rs 13.99 lakh and Rs 21.95 lakh in India.

MG Hector Blackstorm Edition: Some More Design Highlights

The black Hector mid-size SUV is expected to share design elements with the previously launched Astor and Gloster Blackstorm variants, such as Piano Black roof rails and headlight bezels, a dark chrome grille, 18-inch black alloy wheels with red brake callipers, smoked taillights, and a 'Blackstorm' emblem on the front fender. Other cosmetic modifications may include red highlights on the front bumper and ORVMs.

MG Hector Blackstorm Edition: Features and Powertrain

Inside, the SUV is expected to follow the Blackstorm tradition. It will likely have a black interior theme, red ambient lighting, and red accents throughout the cabin. Although it has not been officially confirmed, the new version will retain all of the features of the existing Hector.

The Blackstorm Edition's powertrain is expected to remain unchanged, which means all options available with the standard Hector will continue to be offered, which include a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit producing 141bhp and 250Nm and a 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 167.6bhp and 350Nm. The petrol motor can be paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT automatic, while the diesel unit is only available with a 6-speed manual transmission.

In terms of market competition, the Hector Blackstorm will lock horns with the Tata Harrier Dark Edition, the Hyundai Creta N Line, and the Kia Seltos X-Line.
