MG eXpert is currently available in only select cities, the number of which is soon to increase.

MG Motor India sees itself as an ‘Auto-Tech’ company, and fortifying the tech part of it is MG eXpert – a new online car exploration platform that blends digital and physical aspects of purchasing a car. It can give customers a variant-wise look at the vehicle, allowing them to accessorise it and even talk to sales consultants.

MG eXpert uses the Eccentric Engine to show a variant-wise car configurator, which also shows accessories and variants in real-time. While configuring the car, customers can speak to consultants who can explain the variants and features and allow them to book a test drive as well.

There’s also an option for customers to see a car from a showroom via a video call and get a consultation from the sales team. The augmented reality feature allows them to look at the car up close, in the exact spec that they wish.

MG EXpert Features

Since it will be a location-based experience, with customers getting connected to the showroom closest to them, it will allow customers to interact with the staff in local languages as well.

Gaurav Gupta, Chief Commercial Officer, MG Motor India, said, 'With a tech-backed seamless customer experience at the core of our brand philosophy, MG eXpert works as a one-stop simple & convenient solution to multiple queries from product feature to ownership. We look forward to offering a refined, informative, interactive, and technologically advanced product exploration experience to our customers from the comfort of their home.'

MG eXpert will be rolled out in specific tier 1 cities initially, given that sales staff of showrooms will need to be trained accordingly, but it will soon roll out across the country. By the second half of this year, MG Motor India plans to make this a 24x7 experience.

It is unclear whether MG Motor India will also allow customers to purchase a car on eXpert in the future, for currently it's not supported. Moreover, MG eXpert will also show customers on-road prices and expected delivery times.
