The recently launched MG Windsor Pro and Tata Curvv EV have made waves in India’s electric vehicle market. The Windsor Pro is priced at an introductory ex-showroom price of Rs 17.49 lakh, with a more affordable Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) variant available at Rs 12.50 lakh, plus a battery rental fee of Rs 4.5/km. It comes equipped with a 52.9kWh battery that delivers a claimed range of 449 km. Meanwhile, the Tata Curvv EV, also starting at Rs 17.49 lakh, offers two battery choices – a 45kWh unit with a 430 km range and a 55kWh pack offering up to 502 km. This comparison explores their specifications, features, and pricing to help you decide which EV better suits your needs.
The MG Windsor Pro starts at Rs 17.49 lakh (introductory price for the first 8,000 bookings), with a lower Rs 12.50 lakh option under the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, excluding battery rental.

Meanwhile, the Tata Curvv EV also begins at Rs 17.49 lakh, but includes the battery. The top-of-the-line variant retails for Rs 21.99 lakh. This makes the Windsor Pro more flexible, while the Curvv offers all-inclusive pricing. All prices are ex-showroom.
The Windsor Pro is powered by an upgraded 52.9kWh LFP battery, a notable step up from the previous 38kWh unit. Despite the larger battery, power and torque outputs remain the same at 134bhp and 200Nm. What changes, however, is the driving range – now extended to 449 km on a single charge, compared to the earlier model’s 332 km ARAI-certified range with the smaller battery.
The MG Windsor EV Pro accommodates both slow and fast charging methods. Using a 7.4kW AC home charger, it takes about 9.5 hours for a complete charge. For quicker replenishment, a 60kW DC fast charger can charge the battery from 20% to 80% in approximately 50 minutes.
MG Windsor Pro boasts a premium and sophisticated appeal. The cabin sports a refreshed dual-tone theme, combining beige and black for a richer look. Beige is prominently used on elements like the door inserts, seats, roof lining, and armrests, while black accents on the dashboard and trim provide contrast.
Despite the cosmetic update, the feature set remains extensive. Highlights include a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, leather-wrapped two-spoke steering wheel, ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, rear AC vents, and reclining rear seats styled for better aerodynamics. Other premium offerings, such as a 9-speaker Infinity audio system, wireless phone charging, panoramic glass sunroof, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, continue unchanged. Additionally, MG has equipped the Windsor Pro with Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, enabling users to power external electronics using the car’s battery.

Meanwhile, the Tata Curvv EV features a clean, minimalist interior layout anchored by a large central touchscreen with the latest connectivity tech. It comes with several convenience-focused additions, including a motorised tailgate, wireless charging, electric parking brake (EPB), power-adjustable driver seat, new key fob, and an engine start-stop button.
The cabin also features a voice-enabled panoramic sunroof, a distinctive four-spoke steering wheel, similar to the one in the Harrier, which stands out inside the Curvv EV, unlike the Nexon EV’s simpler two-spoke design.
