In an effort to revitalise its position in the Indian market, the Renault-Nissan Alliance has revealed plans to launch four new SUVs as part of its strategic roadmap for the Indian market. As part of this programme, Nissan and Renault will introduce two separate SUVs that will compete head-on in the subcompact SUV market. Both manufacturers will utilise the CMF-B platform for their upcoming SUVs. While the launch dates are yet unknown, signs point to a deployment schedule that runs until the conclusion of the fiscal year 2026. At the presentation, each brand's upcoming 5-seat SUVs were teased with intriguing concept designs. The SUV from Renault seems to take design cues from the highly regarded new-generation Duster, while the one from Nissan seems to use design cues from its bigger SUV models sold worldwide.

The Renault Group's CEO, Luca de Meo, made a great deal of noise during the launch in India, praising the platform's success - it has sold over a million devices worldwide to date. Latin America, Morocco, Turkey, and a number of other regions are among those that are now producing this platform domestically.

About Renault Nissan India

A huge assembly plant in Tamil Nadu is home to the Renault Kwid, Triber, and Kiger as well as the Nissan Magnite and other vehicles produced by the Renault-Nissan collaboration. Future products are expected to be released soon, with debuts starting in 2025 and beyond, however, exact details on when this will happen have not been publicly announced.

In order to keep prices down, the management of the Renault-Nissan partnership is putting a lot of emphasis on localising future SUVs. Taking cues from the new-generation Duster for the Renault model and the rest of the Nissan range for the Nissan variation, preview photographs give us a look at the design philosophy behind these next SUVs.

The alliance's upper management has spoken to the press, stressing how quickly these new models must be introduced since the existing lineup may not be able to hold their own in the cutthroat Indian market. So, plans are underway to roll out the new products and services as soon as possible.

Renault is expected to update its current lineup, while Nissan is expected to release a refreshed Magnite to maintain momentum.
