Renault has confirmed that its upcoming 7-seater SUV will be called Boreal—a name inspired by ‘Boreas’, the Greek God of the North Wind, and the Latin word for northern winds. The car’s name also draws symbolic influence from the Aurora Borealis, reflecting its focus on strength, elegance, and cutting-edge technology. According to the French automaker, the name represents the SUV’s identity, built around status, innovation, and comfort. The technical details are under wraps at the moment, but Renault has confirmed that the Boreal will first go on sale in Latin America, followed by a phased rollout in over 70 countries. For India, there's no exact launch date for the upcoming 7-seater SUV, which is a part of the brand’s ‘International Game Plan 2027. However, it is expected to arrive sometime by FY2026. More details about the Renault car will be revealed closer to its debut. Until then, let's explore the possible features.
Renault hasn’t officially revealed the design of its upcoming 7-seater SUV, but it’s expected to take major design cues from the Dacia Bigster. While elements like the grille and bumpers may be tweaked to create a distinct Renault identity, the core styling is likely to remain closely aligned. The Bigster, unveiled at the Paris Motor Show, stands out with its sharp Y-shaped LED headlights, integrated fog lamps, and a silver skid plate that adds a rugged flair. Its strong stance is further enhanced by 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, pronounced wheel arches, and dark body cladding.

Inside, the new Renault SUV, similar to the Bigster, is likely to adopt a modern layout, with a 10.1-inch touchscreen, 10-inch digital cluster, panoramic sunroof, and split-fold rear seats for added practicality and comfort.
Renault has not announced an official launch date for the Boreal or the 7-seater version of the Duster in India. However, industry reports suggest that the Boreal could arrive by FY2026, aligning with Renault India’s ambitious growth strategy. The company recently laid out a new product roadmap, confirming the introduction of five new vehicles over the next three years. This lineup will feature two next-generation models, two all-new SUVs built on a new platform, and the company’s first electric vehicle for the Indian market.
