With the R.E.L.I.V.E Program, Renault India aims to offer a seamless scrapping process for 'End of Life' vehicles to customers, with guaranteed benefits in return.

In a bid to show support to the new Scrappage Policy, Renault India has tied up with CERO Recycling (A joint venture between Mahindra Intertrade Ltd and MSTC – a Government of India enterprise) – India’s first organised scrap vehicle recycling company. The key aim here is to offer potential vehicle owners (of any brand) a hassle-free channel to scrap their old End of Life (EoL) vehicles and avail assured benefits on the purchase of a new Renault vehicle.

Here's how the process will work. Those who wish to dispose of their vehicle can simply walk in to any authorised Renault dealership and get the car evaluated to get a scrap valuation quote. If consented by the vehicle owner, from there, Renault & CERO Recycling will handle the entire process – from vehicle evaluation to official de-registration at the RTO to handing over the official certificate of deposit/destruction.

Applicable to two-wheeler owners as well, for them, the scheme will offer a special 7.99% rate of interest from Renault Finance on the purchase of a new Renault product. As for four-wheeler owners, they'll be entitled to additional guaranteed scrap benefits over the existing monthly offers on any Renault product.

As of now, the R.E.L.I.V.E Program has been rolled out in only Delhi-NCR, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune and Bengaluru.

Sharing his thoughts on the new scrappage policy and partnership, Venkatram Mamillapalle, Country CEO & Managing Director, Renault India Operations said, 'We are extremely confident that this partnership will ensure a hassle-free experience for the customers and adoption of better technology and promote safety on the Indian roads in a scientific and environment-friendly manner.'

Likewise, Sumit Issar, MD – Mahindra Intertrade Ltd, said, 'CERO is India’s first government-authorized recycler for motor vehicles built on the PPP model, focusing on achieving zero pollution while vehicle recycling. We have state-of-the-art dismantling centres at Greater Noida, Pune and Chennai and collection centres at major cities such as Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Chandigarh.  Further, CERO has plans to have a presence in 25 cities within the next 8-10 months.'
