The most recent safety technology, known as the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), has been gaining popularity among Indian automobile buyers for quite some time now. The safety suite was previously only available on the most expensive models of cars, but nowadays manufacturers are including it in all of their new product lines. Additionally, it has been reported that several of the current, popular SUVs and MPVs may get ADAS technology in the near future. So, without further ado let's quickly have a more detailed look at the upcoming facelifts from some of the best brands that will soon be equipped with the ADAS suite.
Kia Seltos Facelift
According to reports, the updated Kia Seltos will arrive on sale in mid-2023 (around July or August). As per the most recent spy photos, the SUV will include a panoramic sunroof. It will also feature two 10.25-inch displays inside, one for the infotainment system and the other for the instrument cluster, as well as a rotary drive selector (for the automatic model). A new grille, updated headlights with LED DRLs, freshly designed alloy wheels, a revamped tailgate with a larger licence plate, and new taillamps will all be present on the exterior of the updated Kia Seltos. Coming to the powertrain details, the 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre turbo diesel engines, delivering 115bhp of maximum power will still be found under the hood of the SUV. The 160bhp, 1.5-litre diesel engine will take the place of the older 140bhp, 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine.
Next-gen Kia Carens
It is anticipated that the 2023 iteration of the Kia Carens will arrive in India in September this year. The MPV will be fully equipped with ADAS technology, including features like automated emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, forward collision avoidance system, high beam assist, lane following assist, and more. Inside the cabin, only minor adjustments are anticipated. A revised instrument panel, a new infotainment system, and a panoramic sunroof are likely for the all-new Kia Carens facelift. The same 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol and diesel units that are used in the current Carens will be found in the upcoming version and will produce 160bhp and 115bhp, respectively.
Tata Nexon Facelift
The 2023 Tata Nexon is expected to have ADAS, despite the lack of official details on the new car. It will be the third model in the lineup to have this capability. Only the Harrier and the Safari XZA+ (O) trims presently include the ADAS technology. It boasts features like forward collision warning, automated emergency braking, lane change assist, lane departure warning, and traffic sign recognition. Along with new purple seat upholstery, a digital driver display, and paddle shifters, the redesigned Nexon will now be available with a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity. The exterior will also undergo a few notable alterations. Along with the current 1.5-litre diesel engine, the subcompact SUV will also receive a new 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine producing 125bhp and 225Nm. By August 2023, the new Nexon will have its market debut.
All-new Hyundai Creta
The revamped Creta SUV from Hyundai is expected to go on sale in India in early 2024. The mid-life upgrade will equip the SUV with ADAS technology, which will include safety functions including adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind spot monitor, and automated emergency braking with forward collision avoidance. There will also be a 360-degree camera and upgraded BlueLink-connected car technology, which comprises a valet parking mode, stolen vehicle tracking, and stolen vehicle immobilisation. Further, the 2023 Creta and the next-gen Verna will share certain design cues. A 1.5-litre petrol, 1.5-litre diesel, and a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol motor with 160bhp will be used in the engine setup.
