Volkswagen pulled covers from the - ID.4 GTX at its annual press conference in India. The electric SUV is already available in a few international markets, including the USA, UK, and Europe. Internationally, the carmaker offers the SUV with two electric motors, capable of producing 299bhp of maximum power and 310Nm of peak torque. The ID.4 GTX's 77kWh battery gives it a 479-kilometre WLTP range when fully charged. The electric car can reach 100 km/h in six seconds. Volkswagen has not disclosed the mechanical specs of the upcoming Volkswagen ID.4 GTX EV for our market yet. However, we expect these details to emerge closer to the launch. In India, the electric model will probably come as a completely built-up unit (CBU). Price-wise, the ID.4 GTX may cost Rs 45 lakh (ex-showroom) in our market. After the launch, the new electric SUV will take on the likes of the Hyundai Ioniq 5, the Kia EV6, and the Volvo XC40 Recharge. Volkswagen ID.4 GTX EV: Powertrain

For propulsion, the electric SUV uses a dual-motor setup to produce 299bhp and 310Nm in the international market. It comes equipped with a 77kWh lithium-ion battery, which enables it to have a maximum driving range of 479 kilometre. With a top speed of 180km/h, the vehicle manages a 0-100km/h in 6.3 seconds. As mentioned, the carmaker has not revealed power specifications of the upcoming electric model for the Indian market.

In terms of exterior styling, the ID.4 GTX electric model is more sportier than the standard ID.4 electric SUV. The front bumper of the upcoming electric SUV is sportier and angular, and further has more aggressive air intakes than the base model. Gloss black highlights are all over the ID.4 GTX's exterior, notably on the front bumper, side skirts, and rear bumper. The front grille, rear liftgate, and side fenders of the ID.4 GTX all bear distinctive GTX badging. A LED light bar spans the entire length of the ID.4 GTX's rear end. It has a brake light and a turn signal. Further, the SUV rolls on 20-inch alloy wheels. 

Volkswagen ID.4 GTX EV: Interior 

Inside, the electric SUV has a 10-inch floating touchscreen and a 5.3-inch fully digital instrument console. The interior of the Volkswagen ID.4 GTX is finished in all-black, giving it a sporty appearance. According to the carmaker, the offered feature of the three-zone climate control will increase passenger comfort. The vehicle also supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for remotely connecting personal gadgets. Because it also enables speech recognition and gesture control, users can engage with the system without taking their hands off the wheel. Further, the driver's seat comes with a 12-way power adjustment option.

Volkswagen ID.4 GTX EV: Safety & Price Details 

For safety, the upcoming Volkswagen ID.4 GTX has a surround-view camera, seven airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), as well as a driver-assistance features, including adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, and lane keep assist. In terms of prices, the ID.4 GTX EV could come with a price tag of Rs 45 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.
