Volkswagen Taigun, Virtus Get Passenger Electric Seat, Subwoofer, and More for Festive Season

The Taigun and Virtus have been updated by Volkswagen with electric front seats (for the driver and co-passenger) and footwell illumination on the Topline and GT Plus versions of both cars. Additionally, the manufacturer has added a subwoofer and an amplifier to the Taigun and Virtus GT Plus models.

Volkswagen has recently updated two of its popular offerings, the Taigun and the Virtus in India ahead of the festive season. Both these vehicles are built on the India-specific MQB AO IN platform. Besides this, the addition of the Carbon Steel Grey Matte colour option brings matte exteriors to the Virtus. Notably, the German auto manufacturer has modified the Topline and GT Plus models of the Taigun and the Virtus in our home market by adding new features. These products now have electric front seats and illuminated footwells. In the MT and DSG trims of the Taigun and the Virtus, the brand has also included features like a subwoofer and an amplifier. As of October 3, 2023, the cost of the Volkswagen Taigun starts at Rs 11.62 lakh and goes as high as Rs 19.76 lakh, whereas the pricing for the Virtus ranges from Rs 11.48 lakh to Rs 19.29 lakh. All mentioned prices are ex-showroom.

Volkswagen Virtus GT Plus Matte Edition Launched

Meanwhile, Volkswagen has finally revealed the prices for the Virtus GT Plus Matte Edition, for which reservations began last month, as part of their festive season offer. The Virtus GT Plus Matte Edition closely mirrors the recently released Slavia Matte edition and is priced between Rs 17.62 lakh and Rs 19.29 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom. The GT Plus Matte edition of the Virtus sedan is a part of the company's GT Edge line, which also includes the Taigun and Virtus Deep Black Pearl editions. The Dark Matte Grey paint job in this design is what stands out the most. As we move towards the cabin of the model, we can see Cherry Red leatherette upholstery, aluminium pedals, as well as red ambient lighting.

Volkswagen Virtus GT Plus Matte Edition: Powertrain and Delivery Details

On the powertrain front, only the 148bhp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with manual or DSG automatic gearbox is offered with the unique matte coating. It can only be reserved online, and deliveries are scheduled to start this month on a first-come, first-served basis. The matte versions will be sold in limited quantities. It is important to note that the price of the Virtus GT Plus Matte Edition is Rs 40,000 more than the standard Virtus GT Plus and Rs 20,000 more than the GT Plus Deep Black Pearl model.

Other Available Benefits

As part of the Volkfest 2023, the firm is also offering free vehicle checks as well as free pick-up and drop-off services for a set number of kilometres. Apart from this, there is doorstep support for routine maintenance from Volkswagen Assistance and Mobile Service Units, and discounts on Service Value Packs, extended warranties, and roadside assistance.
