The European New Car Assessment Programme, or Euro NCAP, recently crash-tested the Volkswagen Taigun. The assessment body has given the third-generation SUV a perfect safety rating of five stars, making it one of the safest in its class. The tests were conducted in categories like safety assist (which evaluates driver assistance technologies installed as standard), vulnerable road users, adult and child occupant protection, and safety assist. The Tiguan's 5-star certification indicates that it has good overall impact protection and good equipment with a wide range of useful accident prevention technologies.

Volkswagen Tiguan: Euro NCAP Safety Ratings

A few weeks back, the new Volkswagen Tiguan, available with diesel, plug-in hybrid, and light petrol engines, made its debut in Europe. It received five stars in the Euro NCAP tests, mostly because of its exceptional suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) safety features. At 83% for adult occupants and 88% for child occupants, respectively, the safety rating is satisfactory. Moreover, the model has an impressive safety rating of 84% for vulnerable road users.

Volkswagen Tiguan: Enhanced Safety Features

Volkswagen Tiguan Euro NCAP

Since 2023, the Euro NCAP test criteria have been more stringent, with new requirements such as the ability to detect any children left in the car, which the next Tiguan generation also meets. The model comes standard with side airbags for the outer seats, which improves rear passenger compartment safety. Furthermore, the exit warning system that comes standard on the Tiguan is a practical addition for families with young children. When a motorcycle, bicycle, scooter, or other type of road user approaches from behind, the system can, within its limitations, prevent an occupant from opening one of the doors. In such cases, the system sounds an alert and displays a warning. Other features include:

- Driver Attention Monitor

- Lane Keeping and Lane Change Assist Systems

- Rear Traffic Alert and Exit Warning System

- Dynamic Road Sign Display and Car2X Warning System

- Front and Rear Airbags

- Front Cross Traffic Assist and Autonomous Emergency Braking

- Oncoming Vehicle Braking

- Hill Start Assist and Park Distance Control

- Emergency Call Service and Rear View Camera System

- i-Size Child Seat Compatibility

Following the implementation of the BS6 Phase II standards, the model's fuel efficiency has increased to an ARAI-certified 13.54km/l (from 12.65km/l).
