Bajaj Auto Records 19% Year-over-Year Total Sales Growth in October

Bajaj Auto sold 4,71,188 units (2W and CV) in October 2023, up from 3,95,238 units delivered at the same time in 2022. Let's take a closer look at the sales performance of the company in the previous month.

Bajaj Auto announced that the month of October recorded a 19% year-over-year jump in overall sales for the manufacturer. It sold 4,71,188 units (2W and CV) in the previous month, which is an increase from 3,95,238 units dispatched at the same time in 2022. In terms of exports, the company experienced an unfavourable closing for the previous month. The international shipments decreased by 7% year-over-year to 1,41,570 units (2W and CV) in October this year from 1,52,321 vehicles delivered in the same month in 2022. Regarding year-to-date exports, the sales declined by 21% to 9,43,818 units during April–October 2023, compared to 11,89,768 vehicles dispatched during the corresponding seven-month period in 2022. Bajaj Auto October 2023 Sales: 2W Segment Highlights

Talking particularly of the two-wheeler market, the automaker sold 2,78,486 units in total last month, which is a 35% year-over-year gain from 2,06,131 vehicles sold in October 2022. In addition, sales increased month-over-month with 2,02,510 units sold in September 2023. In terms of exports, the shipments fell 5% YoY to 1,29,658 two-wheelers in October 2023 from 1,35,772 units delivered during the same period in the previous year. However, the overall number of two-wheeler sales increased by 19% to 4,08,144 vehicles from 3,41,903 units in October 2022. With deliveries surpassing 1.61 lakh units in the month, the Bajaj Pulsar line was the biggest contributor to the firm's success.

Domestic sales of two-wheelers and commercial vehicles counted 3,29,618 units in October 2023, out of a total of 4,71,188 units. When compared to the same month last year, this represented a 36% YoY rise, the highest ever for the automaker.

Bajaj Auto October 2023 Sales: YTD Sales

The auto giant saw a 16% growth in two-wheeler sales, from 13,26,737 in April–October 2023, compared to 11,41,683 in the same period in 2022. However, the company's exports declined by 26% to 91,498 2Ws sold in the first seven months of 2023 from 1,23,356 units shipped from April to October of 2022. Due to this, two-wheeler sales overall decreased by 1% to 21,79,057 units from 22,08,095 units delivered year-to-date.

Bajaj Auto September 2023 Sales: Key Updates

Followed by the 2,22,912 two-wheeler deliveries in September 2022, the automaker domestically sold 2,02,510 units in September of this year, registering a 9% decline. As opposed to September 2022, when Bajaj shipped 1,25,443 units, the company dispatched 1,25,202 units internationally in September this year. In total, the auto giant sold 3,27,712 2Ws in September 2023, which was a 6% down from the 3,48,355 units delivered in September 2022.
