MG Motor India sold 4,532 units in February, representing an 8% year-on-year increase. Compared to January 2024, when the company delivered 3,825 vehicles, this is a significant rise of 18%. MG claims that its electric cars accounted for 33% of overall sales, indicating growing buyer interest in this niche. The EV portfolio of the British marque in India includes the Comet and the ZS EV. The upward sales trend indicates that Indian consumers are becoming more interested in electric cars, which is in line with the worldwide movement towards greener and more sustainable forms of mobility.

Talking of upcoming car launches, MG intends to introduce the upgraded Gloster to our market. In our area, the flagship SUV has been spotted doing road tests on several occasions. Let's explore the various features that the new Gloster might provide prospective purchasers.

New MG Gloster: What to Expect?

It is anticipated that the updated MG Gloster will go on sale in India by the end of this year. In comparison to its predecessor, the vehicle is probably going to get a new front fascia with a bigger grille, a redesigned bumper, and two LED headlamps stacked vertically. The refreshed MG car is said to have a new paint job inside, although not much is known about the inside. Besides this, the upcoming refreshed SUV is expected to keep its current amenities, which include a Level 2 ADAS package, wireless charger, 360-degree surround camera, a large touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, heated and cooled front seats, and more.

It is quite probable that the revised MG Gloster will not undergo any mechanical changes, meaning that it will continue to be offered in 2.0-litre and 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel variants. The latter (twin-turbo diesel) produces 215bhp and 480Nm, while the former (diesel unit) produces 161bhp and 375Nm. Both motors are linked to an automatic transmission with eight speeds.

As reported earlier, the SUV is expected to cost more than the present model, which sells for Rs 38.8 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete in India alongside the Jeep Meridian, the Toyota Fortuner, and several other vehicles.
