Once more, a new month of the year has begun, and it is now time for all automakers to report their sales figures. MG reported 4,185 units in retail sales in August, which is up from 3,823 vehicles sold during the same time in the previous year, exhibiting a YoY growth of about 10%. However, when comparing August 2023 to the month before, July 2023, the sales figure decreased. The sales fell by 827 units, or around 16.50%, in total. Coming to the previous month's sales, the company has credited the success to its range of models which include the Hector, the Astor, the Gloster, the MG ZS EV, and others. In the previous month, MG launched a special Gamer Edition of the Comet EV in India at Rs 8.63 lakh (ex-showroom). It is a product of a collaboration between MG and Naman Mathur, commonly known as Mortal, India's top gamer.

MG introduced the 2023 Gloster Blackstorm variant in the country in May this year. Now, the company is reportedly planning to launch the black edition of the Astor in the upcoming festive season to maintain its growth.
