Honda Cars India reported a total of 5,985 vehicles sold in May 2025, with 3,950 units delivered within the country and 2,035 sent to global markets. The subdued sales figures suggest the company is operating with a more cautious stance, possibly due to persistent supply chain disruptions and shifting market conditions. In comparison, the brand posted significantly stronger results in May last year, with 4,822 units sold domestically and 6,521 exported. This indicates a considerable year-on-year contraction across both segments. The steep fall points to a slowdown in Honda’s market performance, both at home and abroad, highlighting the need for strategic recalibration as it contends with reduced demand, operational bottlenecks, and broader industry challenges impacting overall momentum in 2025.
Sharing his thoughts on the brand's recent sales performance, Kunal Behl, Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Honda Cars India Ltd., said, 'Given the prevailing market sentiment, we deliberately maintained a conservative dispatch volume to manage inventories efficiently across our dealer network. At the same time, we remain hopeful that an improved monsoon season will stimulate retail demand in the coming months.'
