KTM has finally been cleared by the courts to proceed with its restructuring proposals, a major move toward the company's recovery after several months of doubt. A local court in Ried im Innkreis formally approved the restructuring proposals for KTM AG, KTM Components GmbH, and KTM Forschungs & Entwicklungs GmbH, after a required two-week period for appeal had elapsed. This is a welcome development amid indications by Indian two-wheeler behemoth Bajaj Auto of its interest in acquiring the company, although an official announcement is yet to be made. This opens the way for KTM to stabilise its operations under new management while fixing its financial woes.

KTM's reorganisation was prompted by increasing production expenses and widespread supply chain disruptions across Europe, which hit its parent group, Pierer Mobility, hard in the first half of the year. As per the approved plan by the court, creditors will receive 30% of their acknowledged claims, amounting to around 525 million euros (Rs 5,219 crore). Bajaj Auto will help make this payment through the reorganisation administrators. Although this settlement does not repay creditors in full, it gives KTM a legally enforceable solution that enables it to continue.
Gottfried Neumeister, CEO of PIERER Mobility AG: "I am relieved and grateful that we have finally been able to close this difficult chapter. Our focus is now on ramping up production at the end of July and realigning the group. I would like to take this opportunity to express my special thanks, recognition, and appreciation to Dr. Ulla Reisch, one of the best insolvency law experts in our country, who guided us through these three proceedings not only with her expertise but also with her tireless commitment."
KTM, along with its sister companies Husqvarna and GASGAS, can now continue its business activities at a normal level with much smaller financial weights thanks to this deal. This is a critical result, as it enables the company to concentrate on its core business without the looming debt that had been running in the background.

KTM is now in a position to restore its place in the competitive motorcycle industry with the restructuring officially sanctioned. For the time being, the agreement provides a clear line to stability, allowing KTM to begin manufacturing. This decision not only serves the interests of the company but also alleviates employees, customers, and stakeholders' confidence regarding KTM's long-term presence in the international two-wheeler market.
