Shell offers lifetime engine warranty

Users of Shell Helix Ultra with PurePlus Technology can avail lifetime engine warranty, as part of a new programme by the Anglo-Dutch company.

The lifetime warranty is available exclusively for Indian registered cars and extends for a period of 15 years/100,000 km, which, according to Shell, makes for the average lifespan of a car. A total of 13 engine parts are covered.

Motorists interested in availing this warranty must sign up on Shell’s website within 60 days of purchase of the aforementioned engine oil. The actual warranty starts 30 days or 1,000 km after enrollment, whichever is later.

Speaking at the launch, Nitin Prasad, Managing Director, Shell Lubricants India said, “We are proud to be the first and only lubricant manufacturer in India to launch a Lifetime Engine Warranty for our consumers. Following the launch of Shell Helix Ultra with PurePlus Technology, we are so confident of the performance of our motor oil to protect against motor oil-related engine failure that we decided to offer consumers this warranty proposition.”

In addition, Shell is offering a limited five year warranty on users of Helix HX7 engine oil.
