Haima Automobile plans to enter the Indian market with a mid-size SUV, a premium&nbsp;MPV, and an electric hatchback.

Chinese carmaker&nbsp;Haima Automobile&nbsp;is planning&nbsp;to enter the Indian market in a collaboration with Bird Electric – a part of the Bird Group – in the upcoming years.&nbsp;Haima Automobile has displayed three models, which are being considered by the company for the Indian market, at the Auto Expo 2020.

For those unaware, Haima Automobile is a Chinese automotive manufacturing company based in Haikou, Hainan, and a subsidiary of the FAW group. It was founded in 1992 as a joint venture between the Hainan provincial government and Mazda Motors – hence the name Haima.

Starting off with its most important product, which is, of course, a mid-size SUV, the Haima 8S was first unveiled in 2019, and it is expected to be the manufacturer's first product for the Indian market. A split-headlamp setup, dual-tone&nbsp;alloy wheels, and LED taillamps doesn't come as a surprise, considering it's a design trait for many SUVs since last year. On the features front, the China-spec model gets a fully-digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, and a touchscreen infotainment system.

Under the hood, the 8S&nbsp;internationally gets a 1.6-litre T-GDI engine, which is good for 190hp and 195Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. From a standstill, the 8S breaches the 100km/h mark in a claimed 7.8 seconds. It also gets three driving modes.

Next is the Haima 7X MPV, which also made its China debut last year. On the whole, the 7X MPV looks&nbsp;a bit unconventional but&nbsp;in a good way. Upfront, the MPV features&nbsp;a huge Maserati-inspired grille flanked by slim LED headlamps. The&nbsp;profile is slab-sided, although the 10-spoke alloy wheels are a nice addition. The rear-end, though, seems inspired by the Tata Altroz.

At the heart of the international-spec 7X is a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine, which is good for 190hp and 293Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox&nbsp;and gets three driving modes.

And, of course, there's an EV too! The Haima E1 EV&nbsp;is a hatchback that comes powered with a&nbsp;34kWh lithium-ion battery, which gives it a range of 302kms on a single charge. And if driven constantly at&nbsp;60km/h, the range increases to 352kms (all figures are according to the NEDC cycle).&nbsp;

The India-spec E1 EV will be manufactured at Bird Electric's soon-to-be-set-up plant at Manesar, Gurgaon. Haima has also revealed that there will be two versions of the E1 EV&nbsp;– one&nbsp;with a driving range of 200kms and the other with 300kms.

Haima is still considering its entry into&nbsp;the Indian market. There's neither any official confirmation nor any date for when the company will set its foot in the Indian market.&nbsp;

Auto Expo 2020: Haima Automobile plans to enter India in alliance with Bird Group

Haima Automobile, a leading Chinese automaker, is planning to enter the Indian market in the coming years. With a collaboration with Bird Electric - a part of the Bird Group - Haima Automobile has displayed three models at the Auto Expo 2020 that might make it to the Indian market.

MG Motor will soon bring in the Gloster SUV to India, and it will be positioned above the Hector as the brand's flagship product.&nbsp;MG also took the wraps off a new MPV that will compete against the newly launched Kia Carnival.&nbsp;

Having revealed the Hector Plus yesterday, MG Motors has taken the wraps off two new products that will be introduced in the Indian market – the Gloster SUV&nbsp;and the G 10 MPV. The Gloster will be MG's flagship offering and will compete against the likes of the Toyota Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour. The G 10, on the other hand, will be a luxury MPV, which will take on the newly launched Kia Carnival.&nbsp;

Talking about the Gloster SUV first, it&nbsp;measures over 5m in length, making it a size bigger than the Fortuner. As far as design is concerned, the Gloster shares its core designing traits with the China-spec Maxus D90. Compared to its sibling, the Gloster gets a re-designed front-end with a humongous grille finished in chrome. The headlamp cluster is a chunky unit, with sleek LED DRLs on top. In profile, the Gloster looks well balanced with the flared wheel arches and roof rails. The rear-end is clean too, with chunky LED taillamps, wide tailgate, and a skid plate.

Just like most other SUVs in this class, the Gloster too is based on a ladder-frame chassis and will get a three-row configuration.&nbsp;Like other MG offerings, the Gloster too will have a truckload of features, such as LED lights, a panoramic sunroof, three-zone climate control, electronically-adjustable front seats, and park assist. It's also expected to have a 12.3-inch touchscreen with the company's connected car suite.

Moving on to the G 10 MPV, it features a van-like design with a small bonnet, a steeply raked windscreen, huge glass area, and an upright rear. The front-end is the main highlight of the design, which features large LED headlamp units, a three-slat chrome grille, and a sharply crafted bumper.

The main highlight of the G 10 will be the&nbsp;various seating configurations, panoramic sunroof, touch-free smart sensing rear door, and smart automatic sliding doors. MG Motors says the G 10 will redefine the segment standards without compromising on comfort, safety, and in-cabin space.

The interiors and the powertrains of both the cars are yet to be revealed. Expect both the MG cars to be launched towards the end of 2020.&nbsp;

Speaking about the Auto Expo participation, Rajeev Chaba, President &amp; Managing Director – MG Motor India, said, 'Auto Expo is the perfect platform for us to unveil our products under consideration for India and also highlight our technology prowess across connected, electric, and autonomous. The launch of GLOSTER and G10 will mark our entry in the luxury SUV and MPV segments, respectively. We are confident that, with its best-in-class features, specifications, and performance, the GLOSTER will be a benchmark for luxury SUVs in India with its launch later this year and G10 will also follow soon'.
