The Dakshin Dare 2018 moved to the town of Guilal for its 119km-long second leg.

As the Maruti Suzuki Dakshin Dare 2018 rally moved into its second phase on 4th September, Day 2 of the event saw the four-wheel competitors traverse three special stages yet again (SS4, SS5 and SS6), each of which ran a distance of 39.02km. An extra, 2km-long Super Special Stage (SSS1) meant that in total, drivers had to cover a stage distance of 119.06km on day two, slightly less than day one’s total distance coverage.

Maruti Suzuki Motorsports’ Sandeep Sharma and Suresh Rana performed with great resilience and proved themselves a hardy duo by taking the fourth and sixth positions after Day 2 on Tuesday evening. The Sandeep Sharma-Anmol Rampal team in the Vitara Brezza clocked 58.09 minutes in the three Special Stages and one Super Special Stage to achieve a combined time of 03:35:05 over the first two days.

His teammate, Suresh Rana (along with Chirag Thakur), also fought back bravely to finish in sixth position after Day 2 in his Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. Rana, who suffered a punctured tyre on Day 1, caught up on lost time by going flat out and as a result, posted a time in the day’s top three.

With Leg 3 starting on 5th September, team Maruti Suzuki Motorsport is looking forward to continuing fighting hard for ultimate glory.
