The broadcast rights for MotoGP in India and the South Asia region have been reclaimed by Eurosport India from Dorna, the commercial rights holder, thanks to a recently struck three-year agreement. They have been involved before, having had the MotoGP rights from 2020 to 2022, which helped bring the sport to a wider audience in India and increase its appeal.

Between 2020 and 2022, Eurosport India was the go-to place to watch MotoGP live. But last year, JioCinema took over as the championship host. This new announcement guarantees that MotoGP will continue to air on television, which is a major plus for fans of the sport. As a result of this strategic move, Eurosport India will continue to provide MotoGP fans with high-quality coverage of the exciting motorcycle racing championship, even though Formula 1 does not yet have a broadcasting arrangement in India.

How to Watch MotoGP in India

Eurosport will be airing live coverage of every MotoGP, Moto2, and Moto3 session in India. But since this is merely a broadcasting arrangement, there will be no live stream on the Discovery+ app for the time being. As the final pre-season testing has finally concluded, the Qatar Grand Prix on March 8th will mark the start of the 2024 MotoGP World Championship.

Although the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) has received good feedback from riders, the first Indian Grand Prix this year was extremely physically demanding owing to the excessive humidity and scorching heat (32–35 degrees Celsius) that racers faced all weekend. Due to the weather, several changes were made, such as shortening the MotoGP Sprint and junior class races by one lap and the MotoGP race on Sunday by three laps. Even with all of these precautions, Jorge Martin still had trouble staying hydrated as the race progressed.

With a notable 1,006-meter straight following turn three, the 4.96-kilometer BIC circuit boasts thirteen corners, eight to the right and five to the left. In order to meet the requirements of holding a top-tier international motorbike race, the BIC was extensively upgraded. This included adding new gravel portions and erecting safety obstacles, including air fence barriers. The BIC is now one of only a few of facilities that can stage both Formula 1 and MotoGP races thanks to these upgrades. Notable examples of such versatile circuits include the Lusail International Circuit in Qatar, the Red Bull Ring in Austria, and the Circuit of the Americas in the United States.
