1. 29 October 2024: Suzuki recalls around 1056 units of the Hayabusa models produced between March 2021 and September 2024. The recall was done due to a front brake issue.

Suzuki Hayabusa Engine, Specifications, and Performance

This motorcycle receives power from a 1340cc liquid-cooled engine having four inline cylinders with a four-valve per cylinder configuration. It gets mated with a six-speed manual transmission system and develops a peak power and torque of 190bhp at 9700 rpm and 142 Nm at 7000 rpm, respectively. These power figures enable the Hayabusa bike to achieve a top speed of 300 km/h, as stated by the manufacturer. Further, the ARAI-asserted Suzuki Hayabusa mileage has been claimed to be 18 km/l.

Moving further onto the specifications, this bike, built on a twin-spar aluminum frame, comes equipped with oil-damped inverted telescopic front suspension with coil spring, oil-damped link-type rear suspension with coil spring, and 17-inch alloy wheels with a front tyre profile of ‘120/70 - ZR17’ and rear tyre profile of ‘190/50 - ZR17’. The braking duties are performed by a 320mm front disc brake accompanied by a four-piston caliper and 260mm rear disc brakes accompanied by a single-piston caliper. The braking setup also includes a dual-channel antilock braking system that prevents the bike from skidding by means of inhibiting its wheels from locking after the brake lever is released.

In terms of dimensions, this motorcycle has a length of 2180mm, a width of 735mm, and a height of 1165mm. The wheelbase, ground clearance, and seat height are 1480mm, 125mm, and 800mm, respectively. Further, the kerb weight of this vehicle is 266 kg and its fuel tank can take up to 20 litres of petrol.
