About Lamborghini Cars

Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. is an Italian brand and manufacturer of luxury supercars based in Sant'Agata Bolognese. It is renowned for its V12 engines and is among the most respected automotive brands in history. The company is owned by Volkswagen Group AG through its subsidiary, Audi.

Ferruccio Lamborghini, an Italian manufacturing magnate, founded Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. in 1963 to compete with established marques like Ferrari. In fact, Lamborghini cars were born as a response to Enzo Ferrari’s insulting remarks about Ferruccio’s car designing capabilities. Ferruccio took it upon himself to find a fitting reply to Enzo’s pride and arrogance.

Lamborghini grew rapidly during its first decade. However, it sales plunged in the wake of the 1973 worldwide financial downturn and the oil crisis. The firm's ownership changed three times after 1973, including a bankruptcy in 1978.

In 2011, Lamborghini reached the Indian shores by appointing Exclusive Motors in Delhi as its sole distributor in India. Imported as CBUs, Lamborghini car prices, since the beginning, established them as a niche in the Indian market. This was the first Lamborghini distributorship in the country. In 2012, Lamborghini went on to expand its footprint by appointing Autohangar of Mumbai as its second distributor. Finally, in 2013, Lamborghini established its own national sales company and opened its new dealership at Delhi’s Mathura Road.

Initially, the new Lamborghini cars offered in India were the Gallardo and the Aventador LP 700-4. Later they brought the Huracan, the Aventador, the Urus, and many others.
