<p>The new-gen Maruti Suzuki Celerio is now available in CNG powered variant. The factory-fit CNG kit is offered with the VXI trim of the standard car. The Maruti Suzuki Celerio CNG VXI has been priced at Rs 6.58 lakh (ex-showroom), which is Rs 95,000 more than that of the similarly-specced Celerio.</p>

<p>The CNG variant uses the same 1.0-litre three-pot petrol engine but in a different state of tune. The Celerio CNG puts out 56bhp and 82.1Nm – a deficit of 9.8bhp and 6.9Nm when compared to the standard hatchback. The engine is paired to a five-speed manual – the Celerio CNG does not get the AMT even as an option.</p>

<p>&nbsp;All the other mechanicals are identical to the standard car; however, the useable boot space in the new CNG variant will be compromised, as the bi-fuel tank will be mounted in the trunk.</p>

<p>The main rivals to the new CNG variant of Celerio are the Hyundai i10 Grand Nios CNG and the upcoming Tata Tiago CNG variant, which&nbsp;is likely to be priced in the Rs 6 – 7 lakh range (ex-showroom).</p>

<p>The Maruti Suzuki Celerio is the first launch from the carmaker to get a CNG variant. The manufacturer plans on introducing more CNG models in 2022. Most likely, the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is next.</p>

Maruti Suzuki Celerio CNG launched at Rs 6.58 lakh

Just days before the launch of the Tata Tiago CNG, Maruti Suzuki has launched the CNG variant of the Celerio. With the introduction of a CNG variant, Maruti Suzuki now claims a fuel efficiency of 35.60 km/kg.

<p><strong>The Maruti Suzuki has received an impressive number of bookings for the Celerio within a period of just over a&nbsp;month. But the carmaker – just like other car and motorcycle manufacturers – is facing a chip shortage, which has affected the production of the car.</strong></p>

<p>A completely new generation of the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/maruti-suzuki/">Maruti Suzuki</a> Celerio was launched last month. Within a span of just over a month, the Maruti Suzuki <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/maruti-suzuki/celerio/">Celerio</a> has received 15,000 bookings.</p>

<p>However, due to a shortage of semi-conductors, the deliveries of the new Celerio are likely to be delayed. The waiting period for the new Celerio has now shot up to 12 weeks, depending on the variant.&nbsp;</p>

The Maruti Suzuki Celerio has received an impressive number of bookings within a span shy over a month. But the maker – as well as other car and motorcycle manufacturers – are facing the chip shortage which has affected production.

<p>The new-generation <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/maruti-suzuki/">Maruti Suzuki</a> Celerio has been launched at a starting price of Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom)for the LXi variant of the Celerio, which is&nbsp;equipped with a manual transmission. The top-spec ZXi+ AMT variant of the new <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/maruti-suzuki/celerio/">Celerio</a>, however, costs Rs 6.94 lakh (ex-showroom).&nbsp;</p>

<p>The new Celerio is based on Maruti Suzuki’s Heartect platform, which could mean that it will score better in a crash test.</p>

<p>The new Celerio gets the K10C DualJet 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, which puts out 65.7bhp and 89Nm of torque. These power figures are less by around 1bhp and 1Nm than those of its predecessor. This new power plant also features an idle start/stop system, which helps it achieve an improved fuel efficiency figure of 26.86kmpl (claimed).</p>

<p>The gearbox options available with the car include a five-speed manual and an AMT. As mentioned above, the Celerio LXi variant misses out on the convenience of an automatic, while all the other variants can be had with the optional AMT.</p>

<p>The new Celerio now has a wheelbase of 2,435mm, which is 10mm more than that of its predecessor. The length and height of the new Celerio are the same as before at 3,695mm and 1,555mm, respectively; however, the new hatchback is 55mm wider (1,655mm) than the older Celerio. The ground clearance is now marked at 170mm, which is a 5mm increase over the model it replaces.</p>

<p>Along with the exterior styling updates, the Celerio now features a new dashboard layout. There is a 7-inch touch-operated infotainment system, which features Maruti’s SmartPlay Studio system, along with Android Auto and Apple Carplay.</p>

<p>The new Celerio also gets a new steering wheel design, with infotainment system controls mounted on it. With the update, the power window switches have been repositioned to the centre console. The feature list includes push-button start/stop, electrically-adjustable ORVMs, and keyless entry as well.</p>

<p>The Maruti Suzuki Celerio rivals the Hyundai Santro and <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/tata/tiago/">Tata Tiago</a>, which are priced in the Rs 4.76 lakh –&nbsp;4.99 lakh range (ex-showroom).</p>

All-new Maruti Suzuki Celerio to be launched on November 10

The new Celerio is expected to make its debut with new underpinnings, and a longer feature list. However, more goodies are likely to bump up the price of the new hatchback as well. Read the following to know more.

<p><strong>After a number of spy shots had emerged recently, Maruti Suzuki has announced the commencement of&nbsp;bookings for the next-generation Celerio.</strong></p>

<p>Maruti Suzuki has opened bookings for the much-awaited all-new Celerio for an amount of ₹11,000. As the prefix suggests, the latest iteration of <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/maruti-suzuki/celerio/">Celerio</a> is completely brand new from the ground up and bears almost no resemblance to the outgoing model. However, what we can confirm is the fact that it will be powered by the company’s next-gen K-Series DualJet engine with&nbsp;Dual VVT technology. To put it simply, it will come with the same 1.2-litre, four-cylinder motor from the Dzire and Swift.</p>

<p>Furthermore, the all-new Celerio will be offered with an Idle Start-Stop (ISS) function, which is set to be a first-in-segment feature. Apart from this, we expect Maruti Suzuki to also equip the latest-gen Celerio with the K10B 1.0-litre, three-cylinder engine, much like the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/maruti-suzuki/wagon-r/">Wagon R</a>. As far as design is concerned, the new Celerio sports a much more rounded silhouette than the previous-generation model. <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/maruti-suzuki/">Maruti Suzuki</a> has taken their recent design language forward with the all-new Celerio, calling it a three-dimensional organic sculpted design. If you look closely, the teaser image showcases a front fascia with an all-new oval-ish grille and headlamp design.</p>

<p>Although there is no official confirmation on the gearbox front, we expect the all-new Celerio to come with a five-speed manual and five-speed AMT gearbox. As most of you may remember, the first-generation Celerio was the first to come with the aforementioned automatic transmission. However, one major claim made by the brand is the fact that the Celerio will be the most fuel-efficient petrol car in India. Although we do not have any fuel efficiency figures currently, they can be expected to arrive gradually over the course of the month, prior to the launch of the all-new Celerio.</p>

The headlamps are shaped differently, the grille is slimmer compared to the current car and the air-dam is reprofiled as well. Coming to the rear, the new Celerio gets a new tail lamp design. The hatch is shaped differently than before. The new Celerio is likely to sport 14-inch alloy wheels finished in a matte paint scheme.</p>

<p>The cabin also sees a major design change. The dashboard layout is completely new, and the centre stage is taken by Maruti Suzuki’s in-house infotainment system. The new Celerio is likely to feature Apple Carplay and Android Auto.</p>

<p>A modified version of the Maruti Suzuki’s Heartect platform will underpin the upcoming Celerio. The engine will be the same 1.0-litre three-cylinder unit and the gearbox options will be the same as before – a five-speed manual and an AMT.</p>

<p>The outgoing Maruti Suzuki Celerio is priced between Rs 4.65 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 5.83 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Celerio is likely to be dearer by Rs 20,000-30,000 across variants.
