While Ather has been expanding its business in other cities of India, Bajaj has re-commenced bookings for its Chetak electric scooter in Pune and Bengaluru.

Due to the nationwide pandemic, Bajaj had to halt bookings for its only electric scooter. Owing to difficulties in the supply chain due to nationwide lockdown, the sale of the Bajaj Chetak was paused back in September of 2020. In a recent development, Bajaj has resumed bookings for Chetak. Bookings of those customers who are registered with the company will be prioritised.

Interested customers can book the Bajaj Chetak electric via the company’s online portal for a token amount of Rs 2,000. The booking cancellation fee is set at Rs 1,000, should you change your mind. The price of the base Urbane variant of the Chetak is Rs 1.15 lakh, and the higher Premium variant is priced at Rs 1.2 lakh (ex-showroom).

Currently, Bajaj has its EV operation in Pune, Maharashtra, and Bengaluru. Bajaj is likely to expand its EV network in other cities of India by the end of the year. Now, Ather has recently expanded its network in Delhi and Jaipur and has commenced the deliveries of its scooters as well. Ather has also installed 10 scooter charging stations in the city of Mumbai earlier this week. Bajaj is yet to match its EV network in the markets that Ather electric scooter has already conquered in India.
