The 2019 Polo & Vento get a new range-topping GT Line trim, host of exterior changes & Volkswagen Connect as standard.

Volkswagen India has introduced the 2019 versions of its hot seller Polo hatchback and its sedan counterpart, the Vento. While the 2019 Polo has been launched with ex-showroom prices ranging from ₹ 5.82 lakh - ₹ 9.88 lakh, the Vento carries an ex-showroom price tag of  ₹ 8.76 lakh, going up all the way to ₹ 14.49 lakh for the top-spec variant (all prices are introductory).

What's new in the updated models is their styling. Both the Polo & Vento now get a set of new side skirts, a GTI hot hatch-inspired honeycomb grille and a revised front bumper. At the rear, the changes are led by a set of new smoked tail lamps & a reworked bumper, which now gets a diffuser. Higher variants are also on offer with a set of new gunmetal-finish alloy wheels and a new exterior colour has been introduced for both the models – Sunset Red.

Mechanically though, both cars remain unchanged. The 2019 Polo will be offered in the same variants as before – Trendline, Comfortline & Highline Plus – and the engine options include the 1.0-litre 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated MPI petrol motor (75bhp, 95Nm) or the 1.5-litre 4-cylinder TDI diesel (88.5bhp, 230Nm). The 2019 Vento, on the other hand, is on sale with a choice of two petrol motors – a 1.6-litre naturally-aspirated MPI motor (103bhp, 153Nm) or a 1.2-litre turbocharged TSI motor (103bhp, 175Nm). The diesel engine on the Vento remains shared with the Polo. The Vento is on sale in four variants (Trendline, Comfortline, Highline & Highline Plus). All engines continue to be only BS-IV compliant, as Volkswagen India is yet to furnish details about their BS-VI conversion.

Volkswagen has also introduced a new 'GT Line' edition for both the models, which gets some additional sporty exterior bits like a black-painted roof, black ORVM covers, GT Line badging on multiple body panels & a rear spoiler. Volkswagen Connect, the brand's connectivity suite, which lets the users monitor vital stats of their car and journey, is now being offered as standard equipment on the higher-spec Highline & GT Line trims.

To enhance customer satisfaction & ease of ownership, Volkswagen India has also announced that all their diesel models will offer a 5-Year standard warranty and the extended warranty program on all cars has gone up to 7-Years. From 1st January 2019, all Volkswagen cars in India have been on sale with a standard warranty of up to 4-Year/1,00,000km, 4-Year free roadside assistance (RSA) and three free services.
