For 2023, the homegrown carmaker is gearing up to bring the SUV with a range of mid-life improvements. Tata Motors has not disclosed any information on the SUV yet, but according to industry speculations, the new Harrier could come with a new 1.5L TGDi direct injection turbo petrol engine. In terms of features, the highly anticipated SUV will reportedly get Advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) technology. According to reports, the new Harrier will also get a 360-degree camera, new upholstery, a touchscreen infotainment system, multicolored ambient lighting, and other updates. Let's know about the 2023 Tata Harrier ahead of its official launch in the Indian market.

2023 Tata Harrier: Engine Details

The updated Harrier, as mentioned, could get a new 1.5L TGDi direct injection turbo petrol engine. The four-cylinder engine, which debuted at the 2023 Auto Expo, is rated to produce 170bhp at 5,000rpm and 280Nm of torque between 2,000rpm and 3,500rpm. Both the redesigned Safari and the future mid-size Tata Curvv will presumably get the same petrol engine. Additionally, it is anticipated that it will be utilised in the 2025-slated ICE version of the Tata Sierra.

According to the firm, the brand-new engine will have features like a variable oil pump, dual cam phasing, and an integrated exhaust manifold in the cylinder head. Further, it will have an aluminium construction that increases efficiency and economy.

The water-cooled variable geometry turbocharger in the new Tata TGDi petrol engine will increase the engine's torque at lower revs for better acceleration, according to the firm. It further reports that the new motor's redesigned valve trains and timing chains will result in minimal ownership costs. The Harrier petrol variant will be available with both manual and automatic gearboxes.

Aside from the new engine, the updated Harrier will continue to draw power from the current 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine, offered with the 6-speed manual and automated transmission options. It has a power output of 168bhp and a maximum torque of 350Nm. Recently, updates to the diesel engine have been made to comply with the more stringent BS6 Phase II pollution requirements.

2023 Tata Harrier: Exterior

The 2023 Tata Harrier will probably get the bumper-mounted round halogen headlamps. Further, a new taillight with a connecting light across the tailgate will likely be installed on the updated Tata Harrier. The base alloy wheels could be the same as those on the current generation model, although we anticipate it to get new ones. According to reports, the model will remain the same as before from the sides.

2023 Tata Harrier: Interior

Inside, the Harrier facelift is expected to have an infotainment system and a new semi-digital instrument cluster. New leather upholstery and multicolor ambient lighting will reportedly be among the interior's other standout features.
