Auto Expo 2023:  The long-awaited Kia Carnival made its debut at the latest edition of the Auto Expo. The carmaker had previously shared teasers of the model on its social media platforms, hinting at its arrival in India. The Carnival was unveiled alongside the EV9 three-row electric SUV. The Carnival is available with three engine options: a 3.5-litre V6 MPi petrol, a new 2.2-litre Smartstream, and a 3.5-litre GDi V6 Smartstream on a global platform. For India, it is expected to be offered with a 2.2-litre diesel engine that generates 200bhp and 440Nm of torque. It is likely to be paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The carmaker only displayed the new Carnival (KA4) at the Auto Expo 2023, and it is reportedly not expected to be introduced to the Indian market for some time. The model's starting price in India is expected to be Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom), with higher variants reaching up to Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Kia Carnival's design is more SUV-inspired than the existing model in India, with angular lines and a squared-off stance. The front features the brand's signature diamond-patterned 'Tiger Nose' grille and slender headlights. The lower air intake has a noticeable chrome finish and a faux skid plate, further emphasizing the SUV look. The headlights and taillights are connected by a distinctive character line that runs the length of the vehicle on the profile, and the C-pillar has brushed aluminium trim while the A, B, and D pillars are finished in black. The rear features horizontal taillights that are connected by an LED light bar.

It features a new dashboard with wood trim, a dual-tone Beige and Brown colour scheme, and 12.3-inch screens for the infotainment system and the instrument panel. The centre console has a completely different design. Standard features include dual sunroofs, power-folding back doors, and multi-zone climate control.
