If you are a patron of speed then you would be familiar with the name Bluebird. A number of LSR cars and boats ran under the Bluebird marquee in the 1920s and 1930s with Britain's Sir Malcolm Campbell behind the wheel. His son, Donald Campbell and his grandson, Don Wales, carry on the legacy and this year they have planned a run of 50 Bluebird DC50 electric sports cars in order to commemorate half a century since Donald Campbell set various land and water records.

All the 50 Bluebird DC50 electric sports car will feature Bluebird blue paint on its electric power scissor doors. A 360bhp electric drivetrain goes under the hood which gives a range of 86 kms. The company has not yet released any performance numbers though they promise that the “acceleration matches a Porsche"

Bluebird unveiled another car – the Bluebird GTL electric race car. Conceived with the FIA's Formula E series that's set to start next yea, it shows the vision the company has for this all-electric global race series. Both the DC50 road car and GTL race car will be showcased at England's Sustainable MotoExpo on September 28.
