After securing its spot among the world's top ten automakers in sales, BYD, or Build Your Dreams, is getting ready to expand its lineup in India. It currently sells the Atto 3 in our market and intends to introduce the Seal soon. To add to this product range, the EV maker plans to bring the BYD Dolphin to India, which scored 5 stars in Euro NCAP 2023 Crash Tests. The automaker has registered a trademark for the Dolphin EV, which features two battery options in the foreign market. Even though there hasn't been a formal announcement, the Dolphin EV might be the most reasonably priced BYD available in India.

While there is much to know about this anticipated Dolphin EV, let's start with its outstanding performance in the 2023 Euro NCAP crash testing. The EV was tested alongside the BYD Seal, another electric vehicle slated to debut in our market. Safety assistance, protection for vulnerable road users, adult occupant protection, and child occupant protection comprised the four categories in which Euro NCAP experts assessed the models. Talking specifically about the Dolphin, the EV earned 89% for adult occupant protection as well as 87% for child occupant protection. It achieved a 79% score for safety assist systems and an 85% rating for vulnerable road users. Here is a full video of the BYD Dolphin Euro NCAP crash test.
