Maruti Suzuki Swift Prices Hiked by up to Rs 39,000, Check Updated List Here

Maruti Suzuki has announced an increase in the prices of its Swift hatchback, with the quantum of the hike ranging up to Rs 39,000. Available in 4 different trim levels – LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi Plus, it now stands between Rs 6.24 lakh and Rs 9.14 lakh (ex-showroom).

The next-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift will be launched in India in May 2024. However, ahead of the upcoming launch, Maruti Suzuki has announced an increase in the prices of its existing hatchback, with the quantum of the hike ranging up to Rs 39,000. The new price now starts at Rs 6.24 lakh (ex-showroom) for the entry-level LXi variant, reflecting an increase of Rs 25,000, while the VXi, VXi AMT, and VXi CNG variants have gone up by a uniform Rs 15,000. The higher-spec ZXi+ MT variant, which used to cost Rs 8.78 lakh, gets a maximum price hike of Rs 39,000. All other variants have witnessed a uniform price hike of Rs 25,000. Available in 4 different trim levels – LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi Plus, the current-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift now stands between Rs 6.24 lakh and Rs 9.14 lakh (ex-showroom). Note that this price hike shall remain valid for about a month, given the fact that the new-generation Swift will arrive on our market in May this year. 

Maruti Suzuki Swift: Powertrain

Powering the Maruti Suzuki Swift is a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder, petrol engine that puts out 89bhp and 113Nm of peak torque. This engine comes mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox. In CNG mode, the same engine produces 76.4bhp and 98.5Nm and is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.

In related news, Maruti Suzuki will introduce its fourth-generation Swift in India in May 2024, which could receive changes in the form of a redesigned grille, sharper headlamps and taillamps, revised bumpers, a new set of alloy wheels, a floating touchscreen system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a 3-spoke steering wheel, and a new console for AC functions.

Powering the 2024 Swift will be a brand-new 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine. With its dual-purpose architecture, this engine is anticipated to deliver optimal fuel efficiency and better low-end torque for urban driving. Expect the vehicle to get manual and automatic gearbox options.

Price-wise, we expect the new Swift to range between Rs 6.5 lakh and Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon its launch in the Indian market, the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift will rival the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios (Rs 5.92 lakh to Rs 8.23 lakh) and the Tata Punch (Rs 6.13 lakh to Rs 9.60 lakh).
