Honda is set to expand its car lineup in India with the release of the Elevate SUV. The automaker has already revealed most of the vehicle's specifications, with only the price yet to be disclosed. According to industry reports, the manufacturer will announce the cost of the brand-new Elevate SUV on September 4. The SUV will come in seven monochromatic and three dual-tone paints, with four variants: SV, V, VX, and ZX. The SUV has already started arriving at dealership outlets ahead of its launch, indicating that the price announcement is imminent. Reservations for the SUV have already begun in the market at a cost of Rs 21,000. Once released, the new Honda SUV will compete with models such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and others.

Honda Elevate: Powertrain
A 1.5-litre NA petrol motor that also does duty on the Honda City, is the heart of the new SUV. According to Honda, this petrol unit has been adjusted to crank out a maximum power of 119bhp and a peak torque of 145Nm. For transmission, the setup can use either a six-speed manual gearbox or a CVT. As for the mileage, the petrol manual model claims a fuel economy of 15.31km/l, while the petrol CVT version boasts a fuel efficiency of 16.92km/l. These fuel economy figures are ARAI-certified, and according to the brand, the actual numbers may alter based on driving circumstances.
Honda Elevate: Production Commences
As mentioned earlier, the car manufacturer began producing an SUV at its factory in Tapukara, Rajasthan, India last month. The City and Amaze sedans are also manufactured at the same location. The automaker claims that more than 90% of the SUV was made using local resources, as part of the Make In India initiative. Honda India states that the SUV was designed using the Man Maximum Machine Minimum principle. Furthermore, India is the first country to produce this SUV, which will be available for sale in both domestic and international markets.

Honda Elevate: Price Expectation
Several market speculations hint that the new SUV may have a starting price of Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom). After the launch, the Elevate will go head-to-head against the models such as the MG Astor, the Skoda Kushaq, the Volkswagen Taigun, and more.
