More details have not yet been revealed regarding the project as a whole, but it is expected that JLR might employ their Special Vehicle Operations division in the development process.

After a full 67 years in production, Land Rover announced in 2013 that the production of the Defender would end and on January 29, 2016, the final Land Rover Defender (H166 HUE) rolled off the production line to end the Defender’s legacy.
