The Mercedes-Benz bus division has been integrated with Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) Pvt Ltd. Mercedes-Benz India, Pune which is focused on the manufacture and marketing of Mercedes-Benz passenger cars was handling the bus division till now.
The commercial vehicle division of Diamler AG was being setup up in Chennai and that is one reason why Mercedes-Benz stepped in to look into the bus business in 2008. They managed to sell close to 300 buses.
But after this decision, the marketing, sales, dealership and after-sales of buses will now be handled by DICV, Chennai but the buses will continue to be assembled at Mercedes-Benzs’ Chakan plant in Pune for some more time.
